How to brew and traditional medicine of black current

Vitamin mix from fresh leaves

A drink made from current leaves will become much healthier if you add lemon balm leaves, dried raspberries and rose hips, strawberries, or cherries to it. If you have never brewed such tea before, take everything equally (for example, a teaspoon), put it in a thermos, add a pinch of black Ceylon tea and pour a liter of boiling water over it. After two hours, you can start tasting. Such tea can be drunk unsweetened (if you like drinks with a pleasant sourness) or with honey, but you need to add it to almost cooled tea so that it does not lose its healing properties. Subsequently, you can experiment by changing the proportions of each of the components, removing those that seem superfluous to you, and adding your own, until you achieve the ideal proportions for yourself. Fragrant tea from currant branches

Traditional medicine recipes

Traditional healers use the currant leaf a little differently than we are used to – ordinary users – and certainly supplement them with various components to enhance beneficial properties.

Currant leaf with viburnum and raspberries is an excellent antipyretic and diaphoretic used for influenza and SARS. To prepare a decoction, put 2 grams of a currant leaf, 25 grams of viburnum berries, and 10 grams of raspberries in a large mug, pour 300 grams of boiling water, cover tightly and let it brew for 15-20 minutes. Drink warm, unsweetened, or with a bit of honey, 3-4 times a day until a noticeable improvement.

From a strong cough caused by a viral infection, a collection of blackcurrant leaves, oak bark, sage, elderflowers, and forest mallow, taken equally, helps. A tablespoon of crushed raw materials is poured with 250 grams of boiling water, insisted for at least an hour, after which it is filtered and used as a rinse.

For various skin diseases, it is useful to take oral and use a decoction of medicinal plants as lotions. For its preparation, they take a blackcurrant leaf, string, yarrow, and white yasnotka (two parts each), strawberry leaf and burdock root (three parts each), tricolor violet (four parts), and walnut leaves (one part).

All components are mixed in a glass jar. Taking a tablespoon of the mixture, pour it into a liter of boiling water, simmer for 10 minutes over low heat, and then insist for about an hour. The broth prepared in this way is filtered and taken in a tablespoon 5 times a day, an hour after a meal.

“Every summer I go to my relatives in the Rostov region and bring back a bag of dry currant leaves. In winter, I brew it like tea, and in case of a cold, I rinse my throat with a decoction. Helps great!”

“Every year I make a cold tincture on currant buds. I noticed that on the leaves it turns out not that – there is no such efficiency. The only thing is, you can’t do much. So I don’t need much.”
