Beneficial and fragrant tea is obtained, for the preparation of which they take young twigs with still unblown buds. 25 grams of shortly chopped sprigs are poured into 1/2 liter of boiling water, boiled over low heat for 1 minute, covered with a lid, and insisted for 15-20 minutes. Healing tincture from the currant leaf, according to many traditional healers, is one of the most reliable means to combat the common cold. You can cook it not only in summer but also in early spring, replacing the leaves with unblown buds. The prepared raw materials are properly washed and dried in a colander, then transferred to the bottom of a glass jar, poured with high-quality vodka, tightly sealed, and put away for 24 hours in a warm, dark place. After this time, the tincture must be filtered, poured into clean dry bottles, corked, and put away for storage. Traditional healers use the currant leaf a little differently than we are used to – ordinary users – and certainly supplement them with various components to enhance beneficial properties.
From the flu
Currant leaf with viburnum and raspberries is an excellent antipyretic and diaphoretic used for influenza and SARS. To prepare a decoction, put 2 grams of a currant leaf, 25 grams of viburnum berries, and 10 grams of raspberries in a large mug, pour 300 grams of boiling water, cover tightly and let it brew for 15-20 minutes. Drink warm, unsweetened, or with a bit of honey, 3-4 times a day until a noticeable improvement.
With severe cough
From a strong cough caused by a viral infection, a collection of blackcurrant leaves, oak bark, sage, elderflowers, and forest mallow, taken equally, helps. A tablespoon of crushed raw materials is poured with 250 grams of boiling water, insisted for at least an hour, after which it is filtered and used as a rinse.
For blood purification (for skin diseases)
For various skin diseases, it is useful to take oral and use a decoction of medicinal plants as lotions. For its preparation, they take a blackcurrant leaf, string, yarrow, and white yasnotka (two parts each), strawberry leaf and burdock root (three parts each), tricolor violet (four parts), and walnut leaves (one part).
All components are mixed in a glass jar. Taking a tablespoon of the mixture, pour it into a liter of boiling water, simmer for 10 minutes over low heat, and then insist for about an hour. The broth prepared in this way is filtered and taken in a tablespoon 5 times a day, an hour after a meal.
For pain in the joints, such a healing drink is used: tea is brewed from lingonberry and currant leaves and drunk 15-20 before breakfast and dinner.

Contraindications for use
Just like any medicinal plant, blackcurrant leaves are not shown to everyone. So, this tool is undesirable to use:
- in the last pregnancy – only in a small amount and strictly under the supervision of a doctor;
- persons suffering from thrombophlebitis or increased blood clotting;
- with stomach problems (peptic ulcer and gastritis) and liver diseases;
- with increased acidity of gastric juice;
- with a tendency to allergies.
It would help if you did not independently prescribe treatment with a currant leaf or other traditional medicine. It may turn out that they are strictly contraindicated for you.
